Every now and then you might need to block certain third parties from accessing your sites. There are a lot of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and produce fake visits and online traffic. There's also spammers who leave links to questionable Internet sites as comments to blog articles. This sort of things may greatly undermine your work, as nobody likes to visit an Internet site with hundreds of fake comments, not to mention that the increased website traffic from both spammers and bots could create high load on the web server on which your Internet site is hosted, that can result in the site not functioning properly. One of the best solutions in cases like this is to block the IP addresses which produce the fake traffic, in order to be sure that the visits to your Internet site are legitimate.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting account with our company and you want to block one or a number of IP addresses, you could use the IP Blocking tool, that is included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. By using a really simple interface, you could restrict any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it takes to do that is to log inside to your CP, to navigate to the IP Blocking section, to select a specific domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to input the IP address. You simply won't have to do anything challenging if you want to block an entire network - you'll simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the full range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs shall be listed inside the same exact section, so you shall be able to remove any one of them from the blacklist with simply a click.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, included with our Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages, will enable you to solve the problem with unwanted traffic very easily. It features an IP blocking tool where you may add IP addresses with a couple of clicks. All domains and subdomains that you have in the account will be listed in a drop-down menu, so you simply have to select the one you need and then type in the IP address that needs to be blocked. If you want to block an entire range, a C-class network for example, you just have to type in the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. That shall block all 254 addresses, so you shall not need to enter them by hand. Since all the IPs which you include in this section shall be listed, you could effortlessly unblock any of them by clicking the Delete button related to the given IP.
